Book Signing Event with Bill McCurry

For more than 20 years Bill McCurry has variously been a mentor, friend, and co-worker to Lys and Shado, and we were extremely happy back in 2019 when Bill published his first book Death’s Collector.

Five years later, Bill has just released his 7th book, The Dragon’s Manservant, first in the Sorcerer of Bad Examples series.

This Saturday (August 19th), come join us at Carpe Diem Comics for a book signing from one of the most awesome people we know!

Bill is bringing The Dragon’s Manservant to Carpe Diem on Saturday so you can get your very own copy, and an autograph from the man who wrote it. Possibly with a scathingly humorous inscription, if you like. Maybe even with a dramatic reading. We dunno. Bill likes to “wing it.” Whatever happens, we can promise it will be very entertaining!

The signing will take place from Noon until 4:00pm.

Here’s a bit about Bill and his Newest Book!

ABOUT BILL:

Bill McCurry blends action, humor, and vivid characters in his dark fantasy novels. They are largely about the ridiculousness of being human, but with swords because swords are cool.

Bill was born in Fort Worth, Texas, where the West begins, the stockyards stink, and the old money families run everything. He later moved to Dallas, where Democrats can get elected, Tom Landry is still loved, and the fourth leading cause of death is starvation while sitting on LBJ Freeway. Along the way he was fortunate enough to work in a variety of jobs with people smarter than him, which is a wonderful way to learn.

Although Dallas is a city that smells like credit cards and despair, Bill and his wife still live there with their five cats. He maintains that the maximum number of cats should actually be three, because if you have four then one of them can always get behind you.

ABOUT “THE DRAGON’S MANSERVANT”:
He’s singlehandedly fighting an army to defend a kingdom filled with ungrateful idiots. Can he stop his legacy from going up in flames?

Bib the sorcerer is done saving the world. After volunteering to guard his realm’s vulnerable backdoor by remaining in exile for the last seventy years, the snarky sword master has no interest in bailing the next generation out of their catastrophic war. But when his late wife’s step-grandkids show up begging for help, his initial refusal turns to vengeance when one of the youngsters is killed by an assassin.

Grimly determined to balance the bloody scales, Bib returns to his former home to be greeted with unfamiliar sights and a mocking populace. But in his eagerness to be victorious so he can give them the finger and stalk into the sunset, the famous magic-wielder seriously underestimates a deadly foe.

Will his arrogance get him spit-roasted by his new master?

The Dragon’s Manservant is the sarcasm-stuffed first book in the Sorcerer of Bad Examples humorous fantasy series. If you like heroes who can’t catch a break, novel twists, and fast-paced action, then you’ll love Bill McCurry’s laugh-out-loud adventure.
